Back Hair Removal in Pittsburgh – Try Before You Buy

Four Secret Truths About Laser Back Hair Removal in Pittsburgh

At the end of six years and his 49-day enlightenment sabbatical, Buddha gave his insights about life called the Four Noble Truths.

Here are our insights about back hair laser hair removal in Pittsburgh. Some people are saying men are becoming more interested in grooming and “manscaping”.

You say you don’t give a Tinker’s damn about manscaping.

Well, that’s that, then.

Let’s turn to the sports section and see how the Penguins are doing.

Wait. What?

You’re tired of being embarrassed at the pool or the beach when you take off your shirt because of rogue back hair?

Let’s take a peek and learn some hidden secrets about laser hair removal for your back hair.

Secret Truth #1 You’re So Screwed If You Buy a Package and the Franchise Leaves Town Bankrupt

The two remaining national laser franchises in Pittsburgh are called Ideal Image and Premier Laser Spa. The latter (which is morphing into Laser-Rx) is trying to emerge from its first bankruptcy.

These national laser hair chains are staring into the financial abyss.

These franchises force you to buy a package of nine treatments (which you don’t need or want).

They use slick marketing techniques and proven selling practices to ensure that you will commit thousands of dollars on the day of your initial consultation. They ask you to sign a binding contract right after an intoxicating sales pitch by a polished marketing specialist.

Don’t do it!

Why?

Because the national laser franchises are in deep financial trouble.

Here are the facts.

  1. There were three large chains in Pittsburgh a couple of years ago. The largest national chain, American Laser Skincare had 132 offices throughout the country including one in Pittsburgh. It finally went belly up after multiple reorganization bankruptcies on November 21, 2014. Customers at all of their offices were out thousands of dollars. They were left holding worthless prepaid contracts for laser treatments that were never fulfilled.
  2. Premier Laser Spa in Pittsburgh declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy on October 20, 2015 closing dozens of offices throughout the country. It is currently changing its name to Laser-Rx in Pittsburgh. Many of their locations that were closed will not offer refunds. Beware of its troubled financials if you are considering prepaying with a contract. Contracts will be worthless when they finally go under. They force you to buy contracts for up to nine laser treatments. You will never see that money again.
  3. Signing a laser hair removal contract is extremely risky.

Laser Hair Removal: The Brutal Truth – Happel Laser of Pittsburgh

Ideal Image lost 185 million dollars in 2014 that nearly killed a deal with their parent company. Their 51-year-old CEO, Bruce Fabel, died of a reported heart attack on March 18, 2016. This company has reorganized and is offering many other cosmetic services like cool sculpting of fat and facial injections for wrinkles and lip enhancement to try and stay in business. So has Premier Laser Spa (a.k.a. “Laser Rx”)

TIP: Don’t be coerced into buying binding legal contracts that will be worthless when they declare final bankruptcy like American Laser Skincare did.

An infuriated customer of theirs told a newsman, “I am disappointed that I received neither a warning, nor the ability to find a resolution to get a refund on the services.”

The take home lesson from all of this never repay for laser hair removal packages or any service – ever. It’s way too risky.

How Laser Hair Removal Package Marketing Really Works

Secret Truth #2 If You Have Your Laser Treatments Done at a Laser Franchise, You Will Pay Much More

Let’s talk cost of laser hair removal.

Packages (them) vs. Pay as you go (us).

TIP: You will pay 2-3 times less at a doctor’s office. Packages are the most expensive way to have laser hair removal done. Read our patient’s Google reviews to see for yourself. In a doctor’s office, there is also less risk of a burn or complication.

Your total cost is less when you break down the cost per treatment.

Add the fact that when you sign a binding contract that you are obligated to return whether or not you are satisfied – happy or not with the results or with the facility in general.

Franchises are accountable to their shareholders first.

Not you.

That’s another secret truth.

Laser franchises have strategic marketing plans like department stores which they emulate. They have teams of attorneys and strategists. They are listed on stock exchanges like the NASDAQ.

At an independent physician’s office, like the Happel Laser Center, our reputation is on the line with each patient we treat.

Our reputation is priceless.

Secret Truth #3 Have your Back Hair Laser Treatment at a Reputable Laser Doctor’s Office

TIP: If you want a great steak, don’t go to a Chinese buffet.

Doctor’s offices and hospitals offer the safest and most effective laser treatments.

In our physician’s office, we use the lasers which have been scientifically proven to be the most effective for light skin and dark hair.

Usually the only side effect experienced is like a sunburn-like redness that quickly passes.

When choosing your laser facility, always make sure that the equipment is sterile. The facility should be clean and accredited.

Make sure that it has been inspected. They inspect tattoo and body piercing shops, hospitals, restaurants and nail salons. Happel Laser has been inspected and passed with flying colors.

It’s dispiriting to know that laser franchises have not been inspected at all!

If possible, visit more than one laser office, then choose the best one (but don’t sign any papers).

You will be a patient – not a customer – when you visit our office with all of the respect and privileges that that word implies.

Your laser treatments are held up to the same medical scrutiny as any surgical procedure that we do.

Our main concern is your well-being, your experience at our medical office, and your results.

Our secret sauce is honesty. And even if it sounds corny – integrity.

Since we do not advertise, we depend on word-of-mouth.

In real estate it’s location, location, location.

In medical practices it’s reputation, reputation, reputation.

We are extremely committed. Or maybe we need to be committed.

Secret Truth #4 Maintenance Treatments Are Usually Necessary

In reality, it all depends on your goals.

A lot of men have one laser treatment of their back – just once – right before vacation. For a few months the hair is significantly reduced. They are extremely happy at the beach or when they take their shirt off at the pool.

You save money in this situation because you only pay for one treatment. Some guys want a more permanent solution to remove their back hair long-term.

After undergoing any of the following treatments, understand that even if you choose not to continue after the first session, your remaining hair won’t be the same again. It becomes less coarse and reduced in the number of hair follicles.

You must also understand that with each laser treatment to remove hair – that its permanent reduction. That means with every treatment done about six weeks apart, you will lose about 15 to 20% of the hair on your back.

TIP: Most men need five or six treatments before they are happy with their results.

Be sure you’re completely certain before going through with it. Permanent hair reduction is permanent after all.

On the other hand, how nice would it be to never have to continuously shave or ever wax your back.

As any women can tell you, shaving gives you unwanted razor bumps and ingrown hairs. The stubble of the hairs growing back after waxing or shaving your back is a nightmare when you put on a T-shirt later.

We have seen the worst of the worst in terms of thick and dark back hair. You go to the beach and think that other guy has a lot of back hair?

We have treated the people who don’t even consider going to the beach because they thought they had too much back hair.

Getting rid of it is life changing.

Conclusion

Most men don’t do any research on back hair removal.

Most guys respond to ads or go to the nearest or to the most convenient location.

Not you. That’s why you’re reading this article.

This is to the men who drink downstream from the herd. Salut.

My advice – think twice before you set foot in any laser hair franchise in Pittsburgh.

What if they fold up their tent never to be heard from again?

You’re totally screwed. The chances that you’ll ever see that prepaid money after you signed their contract is the same as you winning the Powerball.

Our recommendation is to have it done in a well-established, reputable, and experienced doctor’s office. Find a place where there is no hard sell and there are no marketing people around.

At a laser surgeon’s office, you’ll save money because you won’t be asked to sign a binding contract for unnecessary laser treatments.

You don’t have to put up with rogue body hair ever again.

Getting rid of your unwanted back hair will absolutely change your life!
